The highly anticipated authentic Nigeria World Cup jerseys would hit Nike stores in Lagos on Friday, The shirts would be sold for 40,000 Naira each.
A salesperson at the Nike shop at Ikeja City Mall informed our correspondent on Monday morning of the development.
"We are waiting for the jerseys to be formally launched in Abuja before we start selling them," she said.
Despite the official price of the jerseys being $85 ((around 30,600 Naira), she said that the almost 10,000 Naira difference is to make up for shipping costs and fluctuating exchange rates.
The Nike jerseys that were unveiled in February in London have been rated among one of the best looking shirt designs going into the World Cup. Even though the NFF recently claimed that Nike had received 3million pre-orders for the jerseys, it is not yet certain how the high cost of the clothing will impact local sales.A salesperson at the Nike shop at Ikeja City Mall just told me that the new @NGSuperEagles shirts will start selling on Friday at 40k Naira each.
